Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, was born February 1, 1968. She is the only child of Elvis and his wife, Priscilla Presley. Her parents divorced on October 11, 1973, and Lisa’s custody was given to her mother. However, Elvis made is a point to visit his daughter often.

When Strength Unfolds During Perilous Times

It was indeed a time of peril, that thousands of people had to move to evacuation camps after their homes were left drenched during Ondoy’s onslaught. Hundreds of families around Metro Manila were torn with their loved ones drowned or engulfed by the rapid floods. Thirty-eight people remained missing and five were left injured.

Buena Park Amusement Park Accident Injures Two

An accident occurred at the Knotts Berry Farm amusement park this month resulting in two injuries, according to the Los Angeles Times. A 12 year old boy and unidentified man were riding on the Xcelerator roller coaster when the cable snapped. Both were taken to an area hospital, where the 12 year old boy suffered lacerations to a leg, and the man had back and neck injuries. He had to be pulled from the ride.

Social Work – What Real Solutions Exists?

There are a lot of Great organizations out there that try to combat the negative factors in our world today. Organizations such as Green Peace, Red Cross, Gawad Kalinga Foundation, PETA, Amnesty International, and the like all exist and function well. However, even with all these organizations in place, the problems plaguing our world still seem to be as prevalent now as they were back then. It just seems that no matter what everyone does, there seems to be no major revolutionary change affected by these organizations (not to belittle the accomplishments of these organizations but human this is referring to the human society as a whole). The problems still persist. There are still massive environmental problems happening everywhere. There are still so many oppressed, poor, and homeless people everywhere in the world. It makes one think that there may be actually no real solutions to these problems. However, there really are. The problem is how to implement them. But the solutions themselves are pretty easy if one thinks about it.

Every American citizen wants to believe that the USA is the best country in the world, but is it? There was a time when that was true, but that time has passed and may never return again. To correct the downward course will take immeasurable public strength and commitment. Some key areas that need improvement are Health Care, Education, Income, and Life Expectancy. Shameful areas where the US does lead the world are: Illegal Drug Use, Health Care Cost, and Oil Consumption.
